Course Overview: The newly developed commercial boat handler course is now available. This boat training course is an ideal springboard for anyone seeking employment or maybe already employed who are looking for a change, both nationally and internationally in the following industry sectors: • Security This course will help prepare personnel to legally, safely and confidently operate boats on the following waters: • Inland Waterways & Lakes Currently any individual wishing to be employed to drive a motor boat on UK waters should hold the minimum of an RYA level 2 powerboat certificate and VHF radio license. However, some companies in the UK may also require individuals to hold a commercial endorsement for the RYA level 2, an MCA’s boat masters exemption license or higher?
Please note, for employers who are looking to develop training programmes for their staff this course can easily be customised to incorporate you equipment and safe working practices. For example; anti piracy training with the use of RGES and Barrier systems as well as your normal everyday construction and transportation services. A major advantage individuals will encounter is the networking benefits they will gain from across the various industry sectors who will also be attending this course. So potentially the delegates could attend the same course as his or her future colleagues, managers or employer! If operating boats for a UK company abroad, then the 10 meter international certificate of competence (The ICC) is the certificate currently recognised in most countries. The Commercial Boat course will also help bolster existing qualifications and experience for those that need such skills as pacing (holding station with another boat), boarding procedures and stemming (very important if working with divers. In fact one of our trainers is and ex Royal Navy Clearance Diver so we can assure you we know what we are doing in this area!
